Day 2 of Flock Art Fest apparently woke up and chose WIND. 😂💨

We rolled in to 30 mph straight-line winds, clouds, and Mother Nature basically saying, “Oh, you brought lightweight handmade merchandise? That’s adorable.”

Care and I spent a significant portion of the day talking to customers while simultaneously holding up displays, rescuing merchandise, and repeatedly retrieving my embroidery hoops—which, for the record, require approximately three molecules of moving air before deciding they are kites. 🪁

But despite the weather trying its damnedest to relocate our entire booth to another county, it was a good day.

New connections were made. Old friends stopped by. Lots of great people wandered through the booth. A little money was made. And, most importantly, the tent and the majority of the inventory are still in our possession. 😂

And obviously there were excellent animal visitors, because apparently Chaos Creative is slowly becoming less of a craft booth and more of a petting zoo with profanity.

All in all? Not a bad Day 2. ❤️

Flock Art Fair, Day 1: COMPLETE. 🐦🧵

Today’s final numbers:

☀️ 78°, breezy, and basically perfect market weather
👣 231 people through the tent
💪 One shoulder that remains deeply offended by my life choices

And because I have apparently been a hippie since birth, my shoes came off approximately five minutes after we finished setting up and did not go back on until it was time to leave.

Please enjoy the photographic evidence of what seven hours barefoot at an outdoor festival does to a person. 😂 Those feet have SEEN SOME S**T.

But the unquestionable highlight of the day was Mango, a cat who attended the festival in a backpack wearing a pink gingham harness and immediately became my favorite customer. I don’t make the rules. Mango won Flock Art Fair today. 🐈🏆

After seven hours of selling, talking, laughing, creating general chaos, and pretending my shoulder wasn’t plotting my murder, I came home and ordered myself a Reuben rollup from Thirsty Pagan.

And I regret NOTHING.

The feet are filthy.
The shoulder is pi**ed.
The belly is full.
The sales were good.
The cat was magnificent.

Day 1 was a damn good day.

Now I am planting my ass in my chair and doing absolutely fu***ng nothing until it’s time to get up and do it all again tomorrow. ❤️

A huge thank-you to Superior Yarn & Creations for hosting my embroidery class last night—and to everyone who came out to spend the evening hanging out, laughing, learning, and stitching with me! 🪡🧵

We had a wonderful mix of complete beginners picking up a needle for the first time and people rediscovering embroidery after not stitching for years. Everyone chose their own pattern, worked at their own pace, and created something uniquely theirs—and every single one of them did an amazing job.

I feel incredibly lucky that I get to share something I love with other people, help them discover what they’re capable of, and watch their confidence grow one stitch at a time. It still feels a little surreal that this is something I get to do.

And yes—there will absolutely be more embroidery classes coming! Keep an eye out for future dates, because I can’t wait to do it all again. ❤️

Well, Cambridge was certainly an adventure. Between the low traffic, disappointing sales, things getting lost, and all the other assorted nonsense the weekend threw at us, we came home without making any money.

But—and this is a very important but—the weekend wasn’t a total loss.

I got to see Maria and Mateo, meet Nancy’s granddaughter, catch up with Kyia and Jenny, and see Jess and her whole crew. Those moments mattered, and in spite of all the crappy stuff, it really was a good weekend.

Sometimes a market pays you in money. Sometimes it pays you in people, memories, and a very firm lesson about what to do differently next time.

Cambridge, you didn’t make us any money—but we’ll be back in the spring to try again. Because apparently, we are both stubborn and financially optimistic. 😂

Chaos Creative has officially invaded Cambridge for the vintage market, and I am surrounded by exactly the kind of things that make me dangerous with a wallet. 😂

Vintage treasures? ✔️
Cool old stuff I absolutely do not need but will probably convince myself I do? ✔️
Handmade goodness? ✔️
A whole pile of snarky, inappropriate and slightly unhinged embroidery? OBVIOUSLY. ✔️

If you’re anywhere near Cambridge, come wander the market, hunt for treasures, say hi, and check out what I brought along.

And yes, I am supposed to be here selling things.

Whether I can make it through an entire vintage market without buying half of it remains to be seen. 😂
