PART TWO!

I’ve read a lot of books the past two years… and people always ask me HOW when I work like 6 jobs, a lovely husband that needs a little bit of attention every once in awhile, and have like 15 kids…

The answer is this: “I read the physical when I can and when I can’t, I listen to the audiobook.”

Two years ago, I decided I wasn’t going to let “being busy” be a reason why I couldn’t read as much as I wanted to… so I picked up audiobooks and I’ll never NOT listen to audio again… I’m honestly sad I didn’t start earlier. I am very strategic about what I listen to… the how, the why, the when. I have a few apps I use, and search Libby religiously with what’s available at my library for books that are also on my shelves already. I’ve been able to read 200 books from my TBR the last two years and it makes me so happy…

Let’s chat the Correspondent by .l.evans ✍🏼

I absolutely loved this novel, which is written entirely in the form of letters and correspondences between the world and Sybil Van Antwerp, the funniest FMC.

Some of my favorite quotes:

“My letters have been far more meaningful to me than anything I did with the law. The letters are the mainstay of my life, where I was only practicing law for 30 years or so. The clerkship was my job; the letters amount to who I am.”

I’m someone who keeps every single letter, birthday and anniversary card, and thank you note. I’ve always had this idea that keeping them preserves our feelings and heartfelt moments and memories that create the puzzle of our lives. It’s everything we leave behind. Throughout the year, I pull out boxes and sift through all of these keepsakes and reminisce. Do you keep notes? Do you have a pen pal?
