12) This sapphire is in my top ten - most notable stones. It is very hard to describe this stone, some would say it's a color change sapphire and they would be WRONG. Color changers change the entire color of the stone depending on the light they are viewed under. This stone is always a pale yellow regardless of the wavelength of the light, instead it has an internal 'ring' localized in the plane of the girdle, and is only seen under bright lights (incandescent or fluorescent) as a bright blue fluorescing ring which is almost discernible in the 2nd pic from the right, that's the appearance of this stone under direct bright light, indirect lighting appears like the far left photo, and in subdued lighting it appears like the 2nd from the left and is sometimes seen as completely yellow as in the far right picture, which for these photos the only way I could capture that color was to shoot it with the pavillon up. This sapphire came from Africa, region unknown, it is untreated and clean. It weighs 0.49 ct and measures 4.8 mm in width. Due to its rarity and peculiar adularescence it's pricey, $1000. If you are interested in this stone leave a note for me here.

11) A Verdilite Tourmaline trilliant which originated from the Niger River valley. This stone has a nice forest green color but contains no Chromium, it is untreated, and has some 'jardin' in one corner as seen in the crown photo and again in the pavillon shot. These photos are about 40x enlargements so the inclusions are more difficult to see with the naked eye. The stone measures 8.8 x 8.8 x 5.5 mm, and weighs 2.10 ct. It sells for $250, leave a note here for more information.

10) Another Spinel from East Africa in the Gold Coast region. Natural Spinels have no known treatments. This deep cherry red spinel rivals the color of fine ruby but for a much lower price. This stone has some very tiny feathers around the edge which even at this enlarged size of approximately 30x are difficult to spot. The cut is unusual having a traditional step cut crown with a brilliant pavillon, as the stone is rotated it produces bursts of pink flashes that can be seen on the crown photo. It measures at 7.0 x 5.0 x 3.2 mm and weighs 0.84 ct. The price is $675, leave me a note to express your interest.

9) This is a Nigerian Africa pink tourmaline in a Slash-Flash cut. All the top facets are triangles, and the bottom facets are rectangles with triangles on the ends, it has some feathers in the pavillon which show themselves as apostrophes from the top, the photos here are about a 20x enlargement, so although this stone does have some inclusions they are not easily remarked. This stone is untreated and weighs in at 3.56 ct. and measures 12.2 x 7.0 x 5.1 mm. It sells for $712, leave me a note for more details.

8) I have cut thousands of tourmalines over the past 40+ years and this is one of the best I have ever cut, it is an unusual and brilliant spearmint green color and is internally flawless. From West Africa, it is untreated, it contains trace amounts of Vanadium which is attributable to its brilliannt green color, but it also has a touch of Chromium. The cut is what I call a double brillliant and just enhances the internal glory of this stone. It measures 7.7 x 4.9 mm and weighs in at 1.60 ct. This stone sells for $1920, leave me a note if interested in more details.

7) This is another Indicolite Tourmaline from West Africa, it is also very saturated with a deep blue indigo color, hence the varietal name of Indicolite. This stone is untreated and has some very slight feathers in one corner, the cut is a modified trilliant cut with a moderately thick girdle to give the setter some tooth in the corners, it will take some expertise to set this stone properly. It measures 7.5 x 7.5 x 5.1mm and weighs 2.00 ct. This stone sells for $700, leave me a note if your interested.

6) This is a stunning Indicolite Tourmaline, untreated and very saturated in color as can be seen in the pavillon photo. This stone is from West Africa, but the exact location is unknown to me, it produced several thousand carats of this deep blue material but hasn't produced near this quality for almost ten years. It is internally flawless and cut in a modified Cardinal cut with precise and squared corners. This should be set by experienced stone setters only. This stone weighs 2.12 ct. and measures 7.9 x 7.9 x 4.9 mm. It sells for $850, leave a note if you're interested.

5) This is a small African tourmaline from the Kenya area, this stone is untreated and has a few small feathers in the break and main facets on the crown barely noticeable on the crown photo, towards the bottom. Considering this photo is about a 20x enlargement, they are small indeed and hardly apparent to any but the trained eye. This stone is often called a verdelite tourmaline and has a hint of blue that is only distinguishable from the pavillon view, it is 0.65 ct in weight and measures 6.7 x 5.0 x 4.2. This is an oval keel cut stone. Leave me a note below if you are interested in this stone it's priced at $130.

4) Although the pic doesn't portray it well this is actually a golden yellow beryl, not really much green to it at all, the rough came from brazil and was more than likely heated at the mine, a common occurrence with almost all of the beryls. It is cut in modified barion style which I have named the Super Miner, reminiscent of the old mine cut diamonds. In fact, this stone resembles in color and tone a vivid yellow canary diamond and has been confused as such even with professionals. The pavillon shot shows how clean this stone is, it actually has one small inclusion close to the edge at the girdle, but it's much too small to be seen well even at 10x. It weighs in at 3.96 ct and measures 9.4 x 9.4 x 7.8 mm. The price of this stone is $792. Leave a note here if you are interested in this stone.

3) This is a pear cut Chrome Tourmaline from Zaire. It rivals Emeralds in color and has a rich deep green color derived from chromium in trace amounts, which differentiates it from other green tourmalines (Verdelite). This stone is untreated and has some fine feathering on edge of the stone which can be seen along the girdle in the crown view on the upper left radius. This stone weighs 1.15 ct. and sells for $690. PM me to inquire about this stone.

2) This is a very fine blue spinel from Madagascar cut in a pear shape, it measures 9.5 mm x 6.8 mm and weighs 1.83 ct. Spinels are close to sapphires in durability, hardness, and similar composition, there are no known treatments to enhance spinel so you can be assured of getting a 'natural' stone just as mother earth intended. This stone sells for $1464. PM me for details if interested
