To our wonderful community,

With heavy but grateful hearts, we want to let you know that The Golden Poppy Cafe at The Pioneer will be closing our doors effective immediately. This past year has been filled with countless cups of coffee, warm conversations, and the joy of serving this amazing community. Thank you for being part of this journey.

To everyone who made us part of their daily routine, who celebrated special moments here, and who supported our family’s dream - thank you. Your smiles, encouragement, and loyalty meant the world to us.

As a small family business, we’ve experienced firsthand how vital community support is to local entrepreneurs. We ask that you continue pouring your love and support into other small businesses in our area. Each purchase, each kind review, and each word-of-mouth recommendation helps keep dreams alive and our community unique. Your choice to shop local makes a real difference in your neighbors’ lives.

The other way you can help small businesses stay open is by voting for public officials who understand economics and business. Voting for council members and county supervisors who have never been responsible for creating jobs, attracting business investment, or making important financial decisions on behalf of others is a root cause as to why our town and county are on the edge of insolvency with no help on the horizon. Just because we go to church with someone doesn’t mean they know how to be an affective government leader. Vote for folks that are passionate and ACTIONABLE when it comes to creating opportunities for Susanville and Lassen, for the sake of our future.

While this chapter is ending, our passion for bringing people together through food and drink remains strong. Keep an eye on our social media for future pop-up events and special occasions where we can serve you again.
