๐ŸŽ‰ WE HAVE SOME PRETTY AWESOME NEWS! ๐ŸŽ‰

Appalachian Critter Co. has officially been nominated as one of the Coolest Things Made in WV! ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸฆŽ

What started with Silas, a 3D printer, and an idea has grown into something we never imagined. At just 13 years old, he's designing, printing, stocking his booth, and hauling his critters all over West Virginia to fairs and festivals.

And now his little West Virginia business is going head-to-head with products from across the state! ๐Ÿคฏ

But here's the important part:

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ PUBLIC VOTING IS OPEN NOW!

We need our Critter Co. family to help us get Silas into the TOP 5!

๐Ÿ‘‰ VOTE FOR APPALACHIAN CRITTER CO. HERE:

If you've bought a critter from Silas, stopped by his booth at a festival, followed along as this business has grown, or just want to support a young West Virginia entrepreneur โ€” please cast a vote and SHARE this post!

Every vote matters, and every share helps us reach someone new.

Let's see how far this 13-year-old West Virginia maker can take this thing. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

๐Ÿ This one was pretty special. โค๏ธ

The Mason County Fair has a wonderful event as part of its livestock program โ€” the Mason County Special Needs Goat Show โ€” giving participants with special needs the opportunity to get into the show ring and be part of one of the great traditions of the county fair.

This year, Silas wanted Appalachian Critter Co. to contribute something to it.

So for seven straight days, his printers ran pretty much nonstop.

More than 180 hours of printing later, he had made 36 of these knitted-style goats โ€” enough to donate one for each participant in the Special Needs Goat Show. ๐Ÿ

At our normal pricing, the 36 goats represent more than $550 in retail value, but this was never about selling them.

They were made to be given away.

Getting to hear Silas and Appalachian Critter Co. recognized over the announcer at the fair was pretty awesome, but we're even more proud of why he was being recognized.

This little business started with a kid who loves 3D printing and wanted to sell some of the things he made. It's pretty incredible watching it grow into something that also gives him opportunities to do things like this.

Seven days.
180+ print hours.
36 little goats.
And every one of them went home with someone special. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ

That's a week of printing we think was very well spent.

๐Ÿ“ฃ PLEASE SHARE & TAG LOCAL BUSINESSES! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Last year, the boys and I mailed hundreds of letters, but many were never delivered and others arrived more than a week laterโ€”some even after the sale.

This year, weโ€™re counting on our community to help us spread the word in time. Please share this post and tag any local businesses, big or small, that may be interested in supporting Silas and Oliverโ€™s 4-H market lamb projects.

Every share and tag helps these boys reach more potential supporters. Thank you for helping us get the word out!
