Fort Delaware, the Andersonville of the North. Jumped on a ferry over the weekend for a quick tour of this monster of a fort located in the middle of the Delaware River! Located on Pea Patch Island, Fort Delaware would be home to thousands of Confederate prisoners during the Civil War and even a few German POWs in the 1940s! The origins of this island fortress started during the war of 1812, small emplacements were built to combat the British Navy. It was not until the late 1840s that actual stone construction would begin. Like the last Fort post, this fort saw use during the Spanish American war and worked in conjunction with Fort DuPont and Fort Mott to lock down and protect Philadelphia from any attacking navy. Crazy the amount of history there is right in your backyard!

Been listing and restocking lots of stuff on the site last week and will continue for the next couple weeks. Got in a huge shipment, keep your eyes pealed!

Today we remember those who did not make it back home. It’s not about the day off from work, the mini vacation down the beach, the BBQs, it’s about those who fought to keep the peace. Those who made sure you could do all those wonderful things with family and friends. Those who could not be there to celebrate with you today. We remember you. We remember everything you did to keep us free. Think about that special someone today. Say a few words. You are not forgotten. Thank you Uncle Joe!

Down in Florida for the weekend for a graduation, took the opportunity to check out this cool piece of history! This is Fort De Soto, built in the late 1800s during the Spanish-American War. Similar construction to our fort back home, Fort Mott, but without the beautiful beach! De Soto never saw any combat but was used for training until after World War 2. If you are ever down in St. Petersburg, check this place out!

Surplus Cat in the house! Lilly came to help pack orders and boost morale this morning! This was her first time in the store, ammo cans and OCPs seem to be her favorite. Considering making her a few Tactical-Cat items!

Celebrity guest in the warehouse today! Broke her out of the house to hang out! She is ready for war! Grandmom is the heart and soul of the store, always encouraging us and giving sewing tips & tricks. We would not have our in-house made products without her!

After a brief hiatus, we are back and better than ever. What a wild ride the last 4 months have been for the Grandpops Family. Everything is okay and almost back to running at full speed just in time for the summer season. This week we got in delivery after delivery of new products and restocks. Pops broke out the tank tops for the unusual April heat. We are cookin’ in the warehouse sending out orders, sewing up in-house made products, and spreading that surplus cheer only found here at Grandpops. Keep an eye on new quality content, products, and just some cool stuff we have planned. We are back.

Raised the flag on Mount Snowabachi this afternoon after fierce snow shoveling during the morning hours. We got over 8inches of snow yesterday, roads are hit or miss, a lot of people are digging out. There may be delays in orders, please keep in mind this storm hit 22 different states.
