For those of you who don’t know. This is not a solo operation. I have a helper. She’s 5 and she loves to cut up every scrap piece of leather and ribbon and glue them all together. She does a great job of it. She’s learning to read. She asked, for her 6th birthday, if she could have her very own big girl Bible to learn to read in it. Since she’s the number one helper, she gets to help build it. She’s taking more of an upfront role this time. She has completely designed it. She picked out the leathers, the art gilding, the end sheets, and the ribbons for her first rebind. She’s getting to dye page edges and do a lot of the work herself with close supervision. It may not be perfect when we get done, but it’s going to be one of my favorites. 😍 Kayla Storts Peterson

I got back on the bench and started knocking the rust off. This is my first Bible in over a year. I’m easing back into it. I will not take orders the way most rebinders do again because life happens and I don’t want a long list of people waiting on my to get their Bibles done when life’s circumstances dictate that I don’t have time to get to the rebinding bench. Once I get back into full swing, I have a couple of special projects to do and then I will open up here to take on only a few projects at a time. No more projects than I can get done within a couple of months time span. Rebinding is fun for me. Having long list of folks that will be disappointed in a long wait is not so much fun for either side. When I am ready to take a few orders, I will make a post.

It’s been an absolutely insane month but I did find time to work of a couple of Bibles in the midst of the madness. This is one I finished up for a dear brother. It’s an LSB LPWM rebound in brown horween. Special thanks to Daniel at Logos Rebinding for graciously helping me out with the Greek stamping. Off to Montana it goes. Keep an eye out for it. 😉

I dubbed this one the alpha and the omega because it was my first ostrich rebind and probably my last! Although it turned out great and the leather is beautiful, it was not fun. The block is an ESV Classic Reference, rebound for a dear brother.
