❤️ A Building Gave Us a Place. People Gave It a Heart. ❤️
As we sat back after an incredible Grand Opening, there was one thing we kept coming back to:
Guthrie’s was never going to be about four walls, a roof, or a name on a building. It was always going to be about the people who filled it.
And yesterday, those people showed up. ❤️
They showed up as vendors who trusted us with their businesses, their treasures, and their dreams.
They showed up as friends and family who spent countless hours helping us clean, move, organize, decorate, build, haul, price, prepare, troubleshoot, and do whatever needed to be done.
They showed up as resellers and friends we had met through this crazy vintage world—many even traveling (from TX, FL, IN, AR, GA, DC, NC, KY, and more) just to celebrate this day with us.
They showed up as neighboring businesses cheering one another on instead of competing.
They showed up as customers who had followed this journey, shared our posts, told their friends, walked through our doors, and supported 29 incredible vendors who took a chance on something new.
And they showed up as a community.
That is what we will remember most about yesterday.
Not the building.
The people inside it.
Because buildings have history, but people create the memories.
A storefront can give you an address, but it takes a tribe to create a place where people feel welcome.
And somehow, over these last few months, that is exactly what happened here.
We found our tribe.
To every person who lifted something heavy, stayed late, answered a phone call, shared a Facebook post, brought food, offered encouragement, set up a booth, drove in from out of town, told someone about Guthrie’s, hugged us when we were exhausted, or simply walked through our doors yesterday—
YOU are Guthrie’s.
Our hearts are unbelievably full.
Yesterday wasn’t about any one person.
It was about ALL OF US.
A community.
A family.
A group of dreamers, collectors, pickers, vendors, resellers, friends, supporters, and wonderfully crazy vintage-loving people who came together and made something special happen in Downtown Sweetwater.
The walls may hold the antiques…
but this tribe is the heartbeat of Guthrie’s Corner Market & Antiques. ❤️
And if yesterday was any indication of what is ahead, we are just getting started.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for believing in this place, believing in our vendors, and most of all, believing in each other.
🚂❤️ All aboard. This journey belongs to all of us.
