🍂 **Fresh Batch for Fall — Penuchi Fudge!** 🍁
Or is it **Penuche**? Around here, you’ll see it spelled both ways — but no matter how you spell it, it’s delicious!
Penuchi is an old-fashioned American fudge made a little differently from the chocolate variety most people know. Instead of cocoa, its signature flavor comes from **brown sugar, butter, and milk**, giving it a rich caramel-like, almost butterscotch flavor. Historically, penuchi became one of the classic variations of fudge as homemade fudge-making grew popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Early candy cookbooks even listed **“brown sugar (penuche)”** among their traditional fudge recipes.
It’s the kind of candy that feels like it belongs to another era — simple ingredients, rich flavor, and that unmistakable creamy fudge texture.
