A long-awaited vision is finally becoming a reality.

Captive breeding plays an important role in building a sustainable tarantula hobby—producing healthy captive-bred animals, reducing reliance on wild collection, and helping maintain species in captivity.

One of the biggest challenges is simply connecting breeders.

There are already places to post mature males and breeding projects, but that information is often scattered across different groups, forums, and social platforms. Sac Mates was built to bring it together.

Sac Mates creates a growing database of breeder-ready tarantulas and helps keepers find and connect with others working with the same species.

And you don't need to be an experienced breeder to participate.

Have a mature male? Post him on Sac Mates. Breeders looking for that species can find him and connect with you. Have a mature female you're hoping to pair? See if someone else has the male you need.

The more keepers who participate, the more useful the network becomes for everyone.

New acrylics in the works!

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and we’re excited to introduce some redesigned acrylic enclosures based on common customer requests.

Our 8" × 8" × 12" Spider Haus can be used horizontally for terrestrial species or vertically for arboreal species. This new batch will feature a **sliding front door** rather than the previous hinged swinging door.

We’ve also redesigned our 4" × 4" × 7" Spider Haus enclosure to include a front-opening sliding door in addition to the top opening. We’ll continue offering the top-opening-only design as well, since it works particularly well for young fossorial species.

These changes are a direct result of your feedback and requests. We’re always looking for ways to improve our products and better serve the needs and interests of the hobby.
