I had another post drafted entirely. One that was "professional," and just had the facts of the matter — that we're donating 2% of all sales through November to Emergency Food Network.

But screw that.

I'm *furious* about what's happening, and my heart is aching for every single person, family, and child that is about to lose their access to FOOD.

Ya know...that essential thing we all need every day to SURVIVE.

That thing that we already pay a boatload for while getting paid pennies, while the billionaires just sit around on their yachts laughing about all the zeros in their overseas bank accounts.

I'm fkn over it.

So keep boycotting Target, Amazon, Tesla, and all the other "big guys."
Keep calling your reps.
VOTE next week in your local elections.
Make your voice loud and impossible to ignore.

And in the meantime, get your essentials from a small, sustainable, woman-owned business, and in the process help those in our community who need it most right now.

We can't all do everything, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do SOMETHING.

A Drop in the Ocean is hiring! 🎉We're looking for a part-time fulfillment assistant who will be responsible for:

✔ Accurately reading order invoices
✔ Filling and labeling refillable products
✔ Pulling inventory for orders
✔ Assembling, packing, and labeling orders
✔ Accurately completing orders and documenting shipping and delivery information
✔ Conducting regular inventory counts

This position will be hired as a 1099 contractor at $18 per hour, starting around 5-10 hours per week, with room to grow. The ideal candidate will be available twice weekly during business hours, preferably on Mondays and Thursdays, although this can be flexible.

Please note that this is an in-person and active position that requires standing, walking, and lifting and carrying inventory, located in Tacoma, Washington.

Heads up, Tacoma EcoWarriors!

Due to unexpected changes in the international glass market, Tacoma’s glass recycling vendor has temporarily stopped accepting glass. While we explore long-term solutions, all collected glass will be sent to the landfill. Please continue to use our glass drop-off sites, Recycle Center, and multifamily and commercial recycling containers. We’re working hard to resolve this issue - stay tuned to tacomarecycles.org for updates.

I'm heading out of the country on our Baja EcoWarrior Retreat! 🐬💙

I'm SO excited to be bringing 9 other EcoWarriors with me to Baja California, Mexico to swim with whale sharks, connect with ourselves and the sea, and visit our Ocean Conservation Partner, Vermilion Sea Institute.

But before I leave, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:

🐬 The entire A Drop in the Ocean team will be out of the office, without access to wifi or cell service, from September 3 - 12.

🐬 There will be 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 on September 3 or 10.

→ All local delivery orders should be placed by 5pm TONIGHT (August 26) for delivery tomorrow, August 27.

→ Any orders placed after 5pm tonight will be delivered on September 17.

🐬 There will be 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 while I'm gone.

→ All shipping orders should be placed by 5pm this Thursday (August 29) for shipping by August 31.

→ Any shipping orders placed after 5pm on the 29th will be shipped as soon as possible upon my return.
