Maple doesn't get nearly as much attention as walnut, but every time I build one of these noodle boards, I'm reminded why it should. The lighter color and subtle grain create a clean, timeless look that works especially well in smaller kitchens by helping the space feel brighter and more open.

Every noodle board we make at Welwyn Woodworking is handcrafted from solid hardwood and built specifically for each customer, because no two kitchens are exactly alike. If you're choosing between walnut and maple, don't overlook maple. It just might surprise you.

One of the things I enjoy most about woodworking is creating meaningful pieces that tell a story.

This custom cherry cutting board was laser-engraved with the logo of the Apalachicola Riverkeeper, a local organization I’m proud to support. It will be auctioned at their annual fundraiser.

The board itself is made from fiery cherry hardwood, one of my favorite woods to work with because of the warmth, character, and depth it develops over time. Every piece of wood is different, which makes projects like this truly one of a kind.

While this isn’t a product we currently sell in our Etsy shop, it’s a great example of the kind of custom work we can create. If you have an idea for a personalized gift, cutting board, serving piece, or custom kitchen item, feel free to reach out. I always enjoy bringing new ideas to life.
