Oh, hey 👋 I may have completely failed on my March social media goals, but what a better day to check in on than today's prompt of "Reality."

Sometimes this is the reality of small business ownership (while being a stay at home mom, military spouse, care taker, and all the extra duties we get tasked with in our daily lives) - the result is social media hiatuses, missed product launches, and sales slumps.

I have been working on some things in the background - business related and not. We are in the middle of a local relocation, and I have been working through stubborn health nuances myself. But do you ever have that fear that you cannot relish in the joy of things going well for too long because something negative always pops up? That is kind of where I am at right now. Things are going well (maybe not business wise, but personally), and I am just sitting here, scared and waiting for bad news that I hope never comes, whatever it may be.

Just know you’re not alone mamas, and all those alike. The reality is, we are all working through something. Right now I am working on allowing myself to experience that joy without a "but" attached. We deserve things to go well for us for once. I make it a personal goal in my life to help others and do what I can to bring joy, so I am trying to teach myself that I deserve some of that too.

“So, what do you do for work?” This is sometimes a difficult question for laser owners and crafters to answer in a way that adequately defines all the hats we wear - design, craftsmanship, marketing, etc.

I like to say that I make engraved gifts, but in reality it’s so much more. My top selling product is handwritten keepsake boards. It’s so much more than just a gift. It’s great grandma’s family recipe memorialized in a more permanent way when the paper used over generations becomes worn and stained with the ingredients it describes. It’s the love letter Dad wrote Mom as teens. It’s Grandpa’s secret BBQ recipe. This is what I love - meaning. These gifts have meaning, and for all those who have purchased my products to display in your family home, thank you. ❣️

Hey y'all! 👋 It's been a while since I have posted my face on here, so I thought I'd make an appearance in line with today's March Meet the Maker Prompt.

My name is Dee, but if you want to be cool and call me by my real name it's Dioni (Dee-Oh-Nee) . No, I don't know what it means, my parents saw it on tv one day and was like, "That sounds nice." Lol!

I am a mom of two boys and military spouse to my high school sweetheart of nearly 17 years. I have a BS in Biological Science and my adult career was spent implementing Literacy and Science programs in libraries. Then COVID struck, and I had a baby at the height of the pandemic and PPD hit hard.

One day, I saw an ad for this nifty little machine called a Glowforge and since then I have built a neat little business, allowing me to stay home and continue raising my amazing kids while my supportive husband continues his military service. We have lived in 4 cities across two different countries in the last 13 years, but Tampa, FL is home for us and is where we currently live.

My love language is Acts of Service, and my goal in life is to leave a kind, positive impression with everyone I meet. I am super shy and a tad bit awkward, but I really hope that my interactions with others make their day just a little bit better.

I am so bad at social media, but really responsive and always open to new ideas for gifts. I really like to make customized, sentimental items that you just can't buy in a store.

Happy March! 🌼 It’s time for this years installment of and my attempt to stay active on social media, lol.

Today is all about *Brand Origin.* The name Orange Blossom Customs pays homage to my location in the beautiful, sunny state of Florida. This is actually the second business name I’ve established, as I felt the first didn’t adequately represent my work.

Honestly, I feel ready for another re-brand, because my goal was to create FL inspired art, but my work has actually shifted to more sentimental handwritten gifts and military items.

I think it’s totally okay to continue finding your niche, and if you don’t have a niche, just continue creating what you love and enjoy! ❣️

It’s always such an honor to have returning customers. This closing gift went out this month for the sale of a beautiful home in Historic Ybor City.

My presence on socials has been so limited lately, but I’m still here working behind the scenes! I feel like the busy holiday season with a deployed spouse burnt me out, so once the orders settled down, so did I lol. But I am trying to get back into things and am slowly picking up the pace! I have a couple of new items coming out soon that will hopefully be added to the shop before Spring 🤗❣️
