Humble Swan Revival

Humble Swan Revival Hand painted vintage furniture by a mother and daughter team. We are a mother and daughter team who have a love for furniture and a passion for painting.

My mother, Carol, inspired my love of furniture at an early age. We always had antiques as furniture growing up, partially because it was what was affordable. Hunting for great deals and interesting pieces became entertainment. Of course the pieces that needed extra love and attention were always the most affordable! We often had to have a great amount of imagination and vision to reveal their hidden beauty. Out of that love came the idea for Humble Swan Revival. I love this whimsical building! It's the Frog House in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. It was built in the art nouveau style in 1903. It stands on the Polish Army Square. One frog is smoking a pipe and the second frog is playing a mandolin.

Very moving and beautiful.

I love this portrayal of the Nativity. Before the shepherds come running in talking about the angel choir, before anyone shows up with gifts, there's just Mary, exhausted from child birth, and Joseph, overwhelmed by the task in front of him, and the baby, the baby that changes everything. The realism and beauty of this moment makes me pause every time I look at it.
I love the fun and excitement of Christmas, but I cherish the quiet moments to stop and gaze at the baby. When you are exhausted and overwhelmed, He still changes everything.

Something I did awhile back and was going to do more of them with old vintage table cloths, lace, etc. but never started. I loved how it turned out. It didn't remain in the shop for long.
