Messy hands, happy heart, and a very satisfying finish coat day.
This big pour day is all about finishing up a new collection of botanical pieces. The journey includes careful hand-sanding, applying a protective backing, the perfect crystal-clear pour, and finally - decorating the edges with beautiful glass stones to bring these pressed flowers to life.

For this batch, I’m actually testing out a brand-new resin brand. I won’t name it just yet, but it’s behaving very interestingly during the process so far. Let’s wait and see how the final results turn out.

Each piece is a unique slice of preserved nature designed to elevate any modern space, from serving trays to future lamps.

Which step was the most satisfying for you to watch?

Hydrangeas are beautiful, but preserving that perfect fluffy bloom takes a little bit of magic and some strict rules. If you love hydrangeas as much as I do, here is a sneak peek into how the transformation happens:

1️⃣ Hydrate first. I never cut hydrangeas if the plant is thirsty. To get that perfect preserved hydrangea look, the bloom must be fully hydrated before processing.
2️⃣ Clean the bloom. Every single damaged or withered petal is gently removed so the final hydrangea looks absolutely flawless.
3️⃣ Face up. Position the hydrangea flower heads strictly facing upwards in the container.
4️⃣ The silica technique. I pour the silica gel carefully, dose by dose, making sure it gets between every single hydrangea petal until the flower is completely covered.
5️⃣ Timing is everything. Hydrangeas need exactly 4–5 days. If left too long, the delicate hydrangea petals will either burn or become way too brittle.

Once the process is complete, this perfect hydrangea is finally ready to be cast in epoxy resin and turned into everlasting art!

Do you have any questions about drying hydrangeas in silica gel? Drop them below, I’d love to chat! 🤍

«Really? Is it worth it?»
Honestly, I ask myself this exact question every single time I work with gold leaf sheets.

It’s the ultimate test of patience. You hold your breath, you avoid any slight breeze, and you pray it doesn’t instantly static-stick to your fingers. It’s chaotic, unpredictable, and to be real — it’s so incredibly easy to overdo. One extra flake and the whole balance is gone.

But the moment that gold settles into the ocean textures, wrapping around the shells and crystals... all the frustration just evaporates.

This is going to be the base of a brand-new artisan lamp, and seeing how the light catches these raw, metallic details makes every single broken leaf worth it. Every millimeter is done entirely by hand.
