Just finished a first draft of a short story in my 1927 Woodstock. Did a great job over 15 pages for 99 years old!
Two more drafts of the story and I’ll scan it. Until then, it’s off the grid.

The next BIG project! I acquired a 1920 Oliver 9 “Batwing” typewriter! It needs a lot of cleaning and some minor repair but it’s a truly unique machine. The “Batwings” were innovative in the early tens to allow you to see what you were typing. Machines prior typed from the bottom up, so the text was hidden. This also has a handy pencil holder to draw lines on the paper! A lot of work to do but this is a special one. I got it from the original owners family. She was a nurse in Jacksonville, FL in the 1920’s and learned to type on it. I hope I can get it from this dark color back to its original olive green. We’ll see…
