Two blonde guitars! The guitar on the right is a Double, or Composite Top classical guitar with an Engelmann Spruce top with Curly (Fiddleback) Maple back and sides, the back has an East Indian Rosewood fillet. 650mm string length.

The guitar on the left is based upon and original 1832 René Lacôte “Legnani Model” guitar. It has a European Spruce top with California Laurel back and sides, the ebony fretboard has 22 frets like the original. 595mm string length.

The Spruce/Maple double top is currently being French polished.

The Lacôte style is ready and available for purchase!

A gentleman brought in a 1991 Manuel Contreras guitar to me recently for repair. He had bought the guitar, a 25th Anniversary with a resonator back made by the maestro, from a world renowned classical guitarist. The new owner tried to fix a scratch in the top and his repair went awry. I removed the terribly damaged original top and replaced it with a new redwood top. The owner was tickled pink and needless to say, it is a magnificent sounding guitar again!
