Planning a trip to Parcreek Antiques? Drop in soon! Starting next week, the store at 38874 US 19 in Tarpon Springs will be taking a little end-of-summer break.

Starting August 26th the store will be appointment only, so call ahead at 727-460-8945 to ensure someone is available. We will be back to regular hours on September 9th, and as always, we at Parcreek Antiques thank you for supporting our small business!

Marie-Claude Lalique, granddaughter of Rene Lalique, designed the Tanega vase in 1988, whereupon it would be produced in limited numbers until 1993. This large, heavy, and absolutely stunning piece is one of those original green Tanega vases, still in its original box and now available at the Parcreek Antiques shop. For anyone looking for Mid-Century Modern glass, this bold beauty is a Murano Mandruzzato Sommero vase in blue and yellow, hexagonal in shape, standing at just under 10 inches tall with 3/8 inch thick sides. The Emud Rekord Senior 60 is a German radio circa 1960 with a curvy wood case that shows off its obvious mid-century style. It isn't just a pretty face either - this one has been playing all afternoon! While we can't speak to its AM or shortwave capabilities (poor reception in the shop), it has been wonderful on FM. It's even got some surprising bass for its age and size. If you'd like to check it out, we'll be happy to show off its skills at the Parcreek Antiques shop, 38874 US 19 in Tarpon Springs.

The Macintosh 512K personal computer, manufactured from 1984 to 1986, was the first update to Apple's original 128K, though it was virtually identical aside from increased RAM. The well-loved and well-kept example here is the 512K enhanced (512Ke), released in 1986 as a cheaper alternative to the then-new Macintosh Plus, which came with an 800K disk drive and the same 128K of ROM used in the Plus. Though we say cheaper, it still ran about $2,000, no small sum at the time!
The disk drive is still present, alongside the optional extended Macintosh Plus keyboard that was then available as an upgrade and an Apple ImageWriter II printer all purchased together in December of 1986. Original manuals, books, registration card (filled out by original owners), and more - this is a fantastic opportunity to get a full setup! Perfect for a collector or someone looking to tinker with old school technology.

Since we're halfway to spooky season, we thought we'd celebrate early with this unusual and rare gem - Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House, a 1964 Disneyland Record. Complete with "Spooky Party Hints", side 1 consists of ten stories in sound where a narrator sets the situation and sound effects then tell the story; side 2 is a collection of sound effects grouped by category, intended to create your own stories in sound.
