Our record store flooded two and a half months ago… here is a brief recap of what happened and how we bounced back.
In short, an upstairs residential tenant accidentally overflowed their sink, causing water to flow down through their floorboards, through the framework of the 1914-constructed building, and into our shop.
This resulted in us having to scrap a ton of CDs, merchandise, and some vinyl. Our record shelves became excessively moldy, and our vinyl plank floors became saturated with roof juice.
With the help of some of YOU amazing people, Aimee, Ava, Evan, and I were able to completely redo the floors (hand-painted by us, by the way), repaint damaged walls, afford new record shelves (masterfully constructed by Architectural Salvage Bank), open a brand new retail room, and commission a post card style mural by our friend Sionna 🙏
We could not have recovered from an event like this without your help. To those who generously donated money and time to help us in our efforts–we cannot express our gratitude enough.
Stay Tuned Records is back in business. Come see us any day of the week and check out our new-and-improved record store 💛
