I went into The Hub today to update my display (with a bigger focus on skincare) and I realized what it is I really miss about having my store. It's the people, all of you. I miss you coming in, sitting in my chair and just chatting. So I thought maybe we could continue that right here.
I've been so quiet all of these months because I've been working so hard at my "Little House". It's turning out to be a long labor of love, with me doing most of the work, learning as I go. It's hard to describe my style. At first I would say that it's the little cottage I've always dreamed of. Well how can you word that for a search engine????
Then I had a conversation with a designer who said she would call my style "Quiet English." Oh that is it. ❤️
Quiet English:
Nature.
Old wood.
Linen.
Botanicals.
Patina.
Collected.
Calm.
Nothing flashy.
Everything meaningful.
You don't want luxury.
You want poetry.
And those are very different things.
So now I'm working on that. Currrently the patina! I bought an unlacquered bridge faucet and tarnished it with the fumes of salt and vinegar. I love it! It's giving me the courage to try new things.
I'd love to hear what you are doing in your home? What is your style? How are you achieving it? Let's get back to chatting, even if it isn't in my old wicker chair.❤️
