The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce, established in 1907, is the place where visitors, newcomers, executives, businesses, and others obtain their first impression of the soundness and the hospitality of our community. It is most of all, people, like you, working to make Taylorville a greater better place to Live, Work, Shop, Play and Visit. The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce is a functioning 501 c 6 membership based organization. What Is a 501 (c) (6) Nonprofit? A 501 (c) (6) membership-based nonprofit is an organization that exists to promote its members' business interests, without the goal of making a profit. In addition, these organizations must make sure that no one individual or shareholder benefits financially from the organization's income. All net proceeds must be used for the organization's purposes, such as serving its members' interests. The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce has established an 501 c 3 foundation. This will help donors to be able to navigate and choose how they would like to support the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce and it's direction. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TO: Businesses and Residents on and around the Taylorville Square

SUBJECT: Street Closures and Parking Restrictions for Chillifest (October 2–4)

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS

In preparation for the annual Taylorville Chillifest, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on and around the Taylorville Square from next Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4.

Please take note of the following schedule to plan your parking, deliveries, and travel accordingly:

Road Closures Schedule

🛑 Friday, October 2 at 12:00 PM (Noon): portions West Market Street will close to vehicular traffic through post-event cleanup on Sunday.

🛑 Friday, October 2 at 4:00 PM: The remainder of the Square will close to all vehicular traffic through the conclusion of Chillifest and cleanup on Sunday.
Parking Restrictions

🛑 Side streets off of the Square: Parking along the shoots leading to and from the Square will be extremely limited beginning Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 4, to accommodate event staging, vendors, and emergency access.

Important Information for Downtown Businesses & Residents

🛑Deliveries: Business owners are strongly encouraged to schedule incoming freight and vendor deliveries prior to the 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM street closure deadlines on Friday.

🛑Resident Parking: Residents living within or adjacent to the closure zone should move their personal vehicles out of the Square before the restricted times to avoid being blocked in or towed.

🛑Pedestrian Access: Sidewalks will remain open, ensuring pedestrian access to downtown businesses during normal operational hours.

🦩 The flock is officially taking flight! 🦩

Today, the Flamingo Challenge kicks off, and we’re inviting our community to join us in making a difficult journey a little easier for local breast cancer patients.

Presented by First Commerce Credit Union, with support from Altrua Global Solutions, the Flamingo Challenge helps provide resources through the TMH Walker Breast Program, including imaging for uninsured patients, lodging and transportation for those traveling for care, and access to advanced care close to home.

And there are lots of ways to join the flock! 💗

Last year, our community raised more than $100,000 through the Flamingo Challenge. Since the campaign began, more than $500,000 has been raised to help local breast cancer patients.
