September is Su***de Prevention Month. 🤍
Last Saturday, I stopped by this sign.
My thoughts were all over the place. I was fighting with myself inside, and I sat in my car and cried. Then I wiped my tears because… I had groceries to pick up.
And I think that says so much about what struggling can look like.
Life keeps moving. You work. Take care of your child. Answer messages. Smile. Laugh. Say “I’m fine.” And from the outside, everything can look completely normal.
But sometimes it isn’t.
I know because I’ve been there. And I’m still healing.
I asked for help. Yet most people in my close circle have no idea what I’ve been going through. To them, everything probably looks alright.
You cannot always see when someone is struggling.
So please, check on your people. Especially the strong ones. Ask twice. Listen a little longer. Be kind. You truly never know what someone is carrying.
And if you’re struggling, you don’t have to tell everyone. Find one safe person and start with:
“I’m not okay. I need help.”
Please stay. 🤍
