Each napkin is handmade out of traditional Guatemalan tipico fabric, a plaid fabric varying in color. Every purchase supports women in areas of extreme poverty in Guatemala to create a better future for their families.

“Here in Guatemala it is sometimes difficult for women to get jobs because they have children which employers find burdensome. And so, for this reason, women often struggle to secure employment. Sometimes these women will come to us and ask for jobs when there is work available. But sometimes, the workload is low, and we would like to help them by giving them jobs, but we cannot when production is low.

“I’d like to thank everyone who buys our products, and may God bless you because you are a big help to us – Those who sell and those who buy. It really helps us a lot because if they buy products then we are able to help other people.”

Her drive to preserve their cultural traditions while providing sustainable employment for more women is truly inspiring ❤️

It’s never too early to think about Valentines Day! 💕

The Heart Drop Earrings and Love Coin Purse come to us from two artisan groups in India.

Artists, like Seema, who hand-bead and sew the lined coin purse:

“I am happy that I am working with this artisan community. My life has certainly improved while spending my last 14 years here. It has allowed me to give a better education to my children. They want to study further and work. I want to see their dreams fulfilled. I am also happy that I was able to afford a small house of our own. Though it is small, we don’t have to pay the rent. I hope that I can build one more room in the future. Here I can also save some money in a self-help group. Also, we get support for our health.
