From the archives of Skip's photo albums - another piece of Florida surf history.
When the Amaryllis ran aground off Singer Island during Hurricane Betsy in 1965, it created one of the most legendary surf breaks around and sparked the local surf scene. The ship remained grounded for nearly three years before it was cut up and sunk offshore, where it lives today as an artificial reef off Palm Beach.
