It’s the beginning of a new week which means…it’s District 6 Mumday! Today’s feature is our 9” Mum. 🤩

You’ll find many other 9” Mums out there, but just because the pot size is the same, doesn’t mean the Mum size (or quality) is the same. 😎

While this is the smallest Mum size that we grow, you can see that these “small” Mums are big & will grow even bigger by the time they’re all fully blooming! 😍

There are a few factors that go into how big these Mums grow:

1- We grew 9️⃣ 5️⃣ different varieties of Mums this year & different varieties do grow different sizes. There are some varieties that just naturally grow larger than others 🥇

2- Since we grow our own Mums, we start growing them early. Early start time = a BIG Mum size result. We planted these in May! 😃

3- We CONSTANTLY monitor the Mums to ensure they’re getting all the nutrients they need so that you get a healthy plant 💪 🪴

As we start shifting into fall, Asparagus Fern is one of our favorite ways to keep containers and hanging baskets looking fresh, full & GREEN. 🙌 🌿

When summer has you feeling the heat... Gaillardia is just getting warmed up! 🥵

Also known as Blanket Flower, these sun-loving, perennial beauties thrive in hot, dry conditions and keep the color coming from early summer well into fall. Whether you love the warm apricot tones of Arizona Apricot, the fiery reds of Arizona Red Shades, the classic red-and-yellow blooms of Arizona Sun, or the bright, cheerful blooms of Mesa Yellow and Mesa Peach, there's a Blanket Flower ready to brighten your landscape. 🤩

The Arizona series forms tidy mounds about 10-12" tall and 12-14" wide, while the Mesa series grows just a bit larger at 16-18" tall and 14-16" wide. 😍

No matter which variety you choose, these Blanket Flowers are compact, pollinator-friendly, deer resistant, and happiest soaking up every bit of sunshine they can get (in a well draining location)! ☀️

There are a lot of long days that come with growing plants and running a family business. Our kids spend countless hours here at District 6 Market—helping with tasks when they can, wandering the greenhouses, finding adventure in the little things, and the preferred task of all 3 kids, hanging out with Cali & Corey, the District 6 on-staff cats. 🐈‍⬛

We know these days can feel ordinary while we're living them. But our hope is that years from now, they'll remember the laughter, the greenhouse adventures, the smell of fresh soil, the flowers in bloom, and all the friendly faces they're blessed to interact with so often (we'll never tire of saying we have THE BEST customers-- because it's true!). 🤩

Hopefully one day they'll look back and realize these were the good old days—the place where some of their fondest memories were made. 🥰

And to all of you who have supported District 6 Market through the years... thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you've watched our kids grow up, stopped to pet Corey, or simply made us part of your own family's traditions, you've helped make these memories possible. We couldn't be more grateful. 💚
