🎄🎶 MUSICIANS — WE’RE STILL LOOKING FOR YOU! 🎶🎄

We’re busy planning for the Christmas season at The Open Door, and we’re still scheduling musicians to help us fill the store with the sounds of Christmas throughout November!

Right now, our main focus is Saturday, November 14th, and we would LOVE to fill the day with live Christmas music! ❤️ But if the 14th doesn’t work for you, don’t let that stop you from reaching out—we’re interested in adding music on a few other special days throughout the month, too!

And when we say we’re looking forward to a variety of Christmas music, we mean it! 🎶

From traditional favorites like “Away in a Manger” and other beloved Christmas hymns…to contemporary Christmas music…to Christmas RAP! 😮🎤

Yes—you read that right! We have a Christian rapper signed up, too!

We’re hoping for a little something for everyone, while keeping the heart of the music Christ-centered and focused on the true Reason for the Season. ✝️🎄

🏀 What makes a great team? It takes more than talent to win where it matters most.

We’re excited to welcome The Soul of a Team by local author Shan Smith to The Open Door!

Shan has a heart for encouraging athletes both on and off the court. He serves as an FCA Area Representative at Indiana State University and, through Nations of Coaches, as Character Coach for Indiana State Basketball. He also serves our community as Team Chaplain for the Terre Haute Rex.

The Soul of a Team explores the faith, character, leadership, and relationships that help shape not just stronger teams—but stronger people.

💙 Scripture Seekers — We’re Not Giving Up! 📖
We’ll be the first to admit that our Scripture Seekers Summer Club didn’t quite turn out the way we had hoped. We had dreams of bringing kids and families together throughout the summer to learn Scripture, have fun, and discover all that ANIMO has to offer. Unfortunately, we just weren’t able to build the participation we had envisioned—and we’re sorry we weren’t able to make the summer program everything we wanted it to be.
But here’s what hasn’t changed: we really believe in the premise behind ANIMO!
Learning and hiding God’s Word in our hearts is so important, and being able to do that in a way that is fun, engaging, and interactive is pretty great—for kids and adults alike! ❤️
So, we’re not giving up on Scripture Seekers!
Now that school is back in session and families are settling into their fall routines, we’re going to try something a little different. Our plan is to host a Scripture Seekers gathering on the LAST SATURDAY of each month from 3:00–4:30 PM. 🗓️
These gatherings will be an opportunity to learn more about ANIMO, practice Scripture together, play, connect with other families, and simply have some fun while growing in God’s Word.
