These new-old-stock, unopened packs of bandanas were first sold by P.N. Hirsch stores. P.N. Hirsch started as a neighborhood chain out of STL, then grew to over 30 stores. They were bought by Dollar General in 1983, which means these bandanas have been hanging out in their plastic for at least 43 years.

Fun facts - These parody shirts were popular in the 80s for a few reasons:
1) The Preppy Fashion Boom - Ivy League apparel was a sought after status-symbol.
2) The Duck Head workwear brand made its way onto campus via college bookstores, creating the “Southern Ivy” style with the distinctive mallard logo.

Pair that with novelty screen printing, and the Duck U brand is born.
