🛠 VentClear Diagnosis #003

Complaint: “Dryer won’t spin.”

Diagnosis: Cracked idler pulley and worn drive components.

Treatment: Replaced belt, rollers, and pulley. Cleaned lint buildup. Tested operation.

Result: Dryer back to normal.

One thing I’ve learned is that many dryer problems don’t mean you need a new dryer. Often, replacing a few worn parts and cleaning years of built-up lint can add years to the life of your machine.

“I don’t just clean dryer vents…”

A customer called me because they had replaced their dryer’s belt four different times, and it kept breaking.

Instead of just replacing the belt again, I took the dryer apart and found the real problem. A worn rear drum bearing. The bad bearing was causing excessive resistance, which kept destroying the belt.

✅ Replaced the rear bearing.
✅ Thoroughly cleaned the inside of the dryer.
✅ Reassembled and tested everything.

Now the dryer is running quietly and working like it should.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the obvious one. That’s why I take the time to diagnose the issue instead of just replacing parts.

🔥 Another happy (and safer) customer thanks to VentClear 🔥

A customer called because their dryer was making a grinding noise and they noticed a burning smell coming from the unit. Definitely not something you want to ignore.

We scheduled a cleaning and inspection on their fairly new Hotpoint electric dryer and found a few things during the teardown 👇

⚠️ The belt was starting to fray
⚠️ The rear bearing showed signs of wear
⚠️ Lint buildup and worn components were likely causing excess heat and friction

After a full cleaning and inspection, I reassembled the dryer and ran a test cycle — and surprisingly, the grinding noise was gone. 🙌

At this point, we’re monitoring it before moving forward with replacing parts since everything sounded normal after reassembly. I advised the customer to run a full load and keep an eye on the burning smell to see if anything changes.

Sometimes catching a problem early and getting everything cleaned out can make a huge difference before major damage happens.

A lot of people think newer dryers can’t have issues… but lint buildup and worn components can happen much sooner than people realize.
