Almost two years ago an idea popped into my head and the first spark of Starseed Curiosities and Gifts was born. Then the idea gained more momentum and I gained more bravery and started the journey that has lead me places that I could have never imagined.

I opened Starseed with the vision and goal that it would serve as a place where people could gather, learn, share, laugh, cry, find healing, connect, and just find beauty and magic. I can confidently and proudly say that it has more than accomplished its goal.

Since we opened Starseed has supported and sold items from over 35 Gorge Owned small businesses, 150 small makers and businesses from the US and Canada, had over 4,000 customers, sold over 12,000 items, employed 5 people, hosted healing sessions, won Best New Business 2022, and most of all we’ve had the honor and pleasure of meeting and listening to so many beautiful people who chose to come in and share their stories and lives with us.

I can never thank you enough if you’ve ever walked through my doors. I have felt so honored and loved by all the encouragement and support I’ve received from the community time and time again.

If I could continue this journey indefinitely I would, but the time has come to end the journey and close the doors to Starseed. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make and many different factors played a part. I promise the decision wasn’t taken lightly. Your small businesses need you now more than ever.

We want to have the chance to say Goodbye to everyone and our appreciation for all of you so we will be open until the end of September. Watch for hours and the store closing sales unfold as the month goes on.

Hematoid Quartz is the name given to Quartz crystals included with Iron or Hematite. The color can range from light yellow to a very dark rust color depending on the amount of iron n the deposits. Hematoid Quartz is a semi-precious stone that comes in many colors, but mainly shades of gray and white. Hematoid Quartz was first found in Brazil, but it has also been found in the United States, Switzerland, South Africa, and Germany as well.

Hematoid Quartz is a powerful stone that has many metaphysical properties. It inspires us to manifest new beginnings, encourages optimism, and energizes the physical body. Hematoid Quartz helps with the understanding of self, promotes spiritual growth and higher awareness; strengthens the mind, body, and spirit connection.

This spotted beauty is called K2 Jasper! It is a form of Granite Gneiss, however, it contains spherical, bright blue spots riddled all over. Named after the rock formation it is exclusively found on, the K2 mountains of Pakistan- an extremely remote area of the world. K2 is also known as “Blue Berry Jasper”. Most likely due to weathering and erosion brought on by glaciers that carved the K2 mountains, a now “erased” layer of copper-carbonate rich stratigraphic layer only left its mark by staining the Granite below it, and that is the Azurite and sometimes Malachite occurrence. K2 is a great stone for any rock lover and is definitely a one-of-a-kind piece of mysterious geologic history!

K2 is a great stone to practice spirituality. As it is a rock, not a mineral, it contains many components that give it an edge when comparing it to other crystals. It has the properties of grounding with iron-rich minerals, the clairvoyance and focus of Quartz, the gentle healing vibes of Feldspar along with the divination and receptivity of Azurite! Azurite is perhaps the best stone for chasing run-off thought processes, and is used in physical healing.
