🍕 PIZZA PARTY! 🍕
This mural was a first in so many ways.
It was my biggest mural to date, my first state grant-funded project, and even had a media team come out to capture some behind-the-scenes footage. Every detail was painted by hand with a brush the only thing I used a roller for was the base color. Me and my 1-inch brush got it done!
I started this one during a heat wave and somehow finished it wearing pants. I got rained out more times than I can count, worked through a cracked vertebra, met some really great people, and had so many friends stop by along the way. I even managed to drop a few paintbrushes from the roof to the ground… because apparently that’s part of the process too.
By the end, this mural became so much more than just a project. It became a collection of stories, challenges, memories, unexpected moments, and people that I’ll always associate with Main Street in Winsted.
