We recently received Brightcast to review and as a store that is mostly board games, but also the host of a few tcgs, we found this to be the perfect game to introduce players to a trading card game style game. BrightcastGame comes with 2 preconstructed decks to play with each with the same cards but different backings to keep the decks separated. The spellcaters each showcase an ability found in most deck builds with trading card games.
🟢 Druid is a discard spellcaster where players learn the benefit of taking away cards with abilities that would harm your board state or keep them from winning.
🟣 Warlock will allow players to retrieve cards they need from the discard.
🔵 Wizard does one of two things when played it will draw a card, or if an opponent tries to use an action from a spellcaster the player can use the wizard along with the card their opponent played to block the ability and both players discard the cards used.
🟡 Sage showcases card cycling. If a player is searching for a card, they would play the sage to draw a card and discard a card they don't need.
🔴 Sorcerer is a control spellcaster that will take your their opponent's spellcaster off the board helping players reach win the state first.
🐲 Dragon is a monster that will let a player remove 3 spellcaters from their opponent's board.
🔮 Alchemist is a wildcard, and when played can copy the ability of a previously played spellcaster. This is also a great card to hold along with a wizard to block an opponent's spellcaters and monsters.
🏆 The goal is to have either 1 of each of the spellcaters played on the board or have played 5 of the same spellcater.
This card game is very easy to learn and quick to play! This is a 2-player game and great for younger gamers who are interested in starting to play a tcg.
