We will never forget where we were, how we felt, and what we saw. So many lives were changed that day.
343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics, 37 Port Authority Police Department officers, 23 NYPD officers, 8 EMTs and paramedics from private or other services, and 71 total law enforcement officers lost their lives responding to 9/11. And over the last 25 years, more than 9,400 first responders and survivors have died from 9/11-related illnesses.
They gave the ultimate sacrifice while trying to save the lives of their fellow Americans.
In remembrance today, all Thomasville first responders can stop by BL Maker’s Market to pick up a free Bee Bar and receive 25% off their purchase today. Many of our first responders grab these protein bars each week because they make a quick meal replacement between calls. Although this is only a very small gesture of kindness compared to the sacrifice you have made and continue to make for our community, we want you to know that you are seen, appreciated, and remembered.
We can never repay the debt we owe to those who ran toward the danger when so many of us were running away. Today, we remember the lives lost. We honor the heroes who answered the call. And we thank the first responders who continue to answer it every single day.
Never forget. 🇺🇸
