Happy Spring! We at Lakes of Wood are celebrating this time of year by announcing our retirement! New adventures await us just around the corner. We want to thank all our wonderful customers and friends for 20 plus years of a good living. Currently we have enough wood for a few more special orders and also have some beautiful last ones pieces in inventory. If you are looking for a Minnesota lake we have Lake Vermilion, Minnetonka, Gull Chain and Whitefish Chain to name a few. Also our last Lake Superior, a Huron and Erie are available. Wisconsin lakes include Geneva and Machickanee Flowage as well as some from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and New York. Email or call us to ask about prices and specific lakes available. Here at Lakes of Wood we are proud to use American-made materials and create works of art that represent our nation, and our passion for "time at the lake". The USA FLAG MAP that we make out of four different species of wood, I first designed to honor my father, who was a WWII Marine, who fought for this nation at Iwo Jima, and Tarawa. The various woods that make up the flag still remind me of the great diversity of the United States, and how much we are blessed when we all pull together to help each other. Every USA Flag Map I make is a little different from the previous flag I have made, because each flag has distinct and unique pieces of wood, which make it more beautiful as a whole. Like this country that my dad, and my uncles, and so many others have fought (and even died) for, we are more beautiful when we are joined in a common cause, working together, than we will ever be as divided and scattered bunch of humans. Here at Lakes of Wood, we have been blessed in many ways through these difficult days. We are able to work from home, which is where we create and assemble our Lakes of Wood. We are grateful for that! The difficulty lies in displaying all the beautiful wooden lake maps we make, since the year 2020, as you all know, is different than any of the previous 19 years we have been in business. The Art and Craft Shows that we have exhibited and sold our lake maps at in previous years have not begun yet this year due to the virus concerns, and we do not know when they will be able to safely begin again. Our first show of the summer on Memorial Day weekend, in Eagle River. WI has already been cancelled. Our second show of the summer, which was scheduled in June, Muskyfest in Hayward, WI. has also been cancelled for this year. Two of our three July shows have been cancelled already, those being the Phelps Mill Festival in Fergus Falls, MN, and the Ely Blueberryfest in Ely, MN. Of course, none of the artists or crafters, nor the shopping public have any control over this, but it does leave us with the question, how do we stay in business until this dire health and economic situation is over? I am still making beautiful detailed wooden lake maps, and we are still selling some through our webpage at lakesofwood.com as well as our Lakes of Wood page, but is it enough exposure? We are offering free shipping for any lake ordered during the Covid 19 crisis, and we are able to ship most lakes in between 30 to 45 days at present, and even sooner if I have them already produced for one of the upcoming shows which have been cancelled. We appreciate so many of you that have chosen to order this spring, being fully aware times are hard for all of you as well. Happy Fall! Boy did summer go past in a blur! Well we are heading to Warrens this weekend, the huge Cranberry Fest on Fri. -Sun., Sept. 27-29th. If you have never been there put on your walking shoes and come check out 5 miles of booths and all kinds of great foods. We are booth 179 a block off Main St. to the West behind the school, come see us and get your Christmas gift bought or ordered. See you where all things cranberry can be found!

It is Blueberry Fest time in Ely, MN.! Come see us Fri.-Sun. in Whiteside Park downtown Ely. We have some beautiful Lake Vermilions, Burntside, Fall, Farm, Bear Island and more in inventory for sale. Our booth is 110 right in the center of the park next to the terrific chamber crew. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Hi Everyone!
We are in Fergus Falls, MN. this weekend for the Phelps Mill Festival. It is Sat. and Sun. in the beautiful park by the Mill. Come see us there for a beautiful lake map! We have a pretty good inventory of area lakes just made and waiting to go home with you. Next week, Thurs.-Sat. we will be in Fargo, ND for the Street Fair. Our booth is on the corner of 3rd av and Broadway, stop in, say hi and add a lake map to your cabin wall. See you!

Happy Spring! We are getting back into the swing of lake making after a long, snowy winter. Our first show is in Eagle River, Wi. on May 25th, come and see us!
