Hey guys🥰 This is not a typical post you’d see from me, but I thought you guys would understand. Either yesterday evening or sometime today, someone helped themselves to the moss rose and sedum I’ve had growing in the cracks of our front steps. Why steal?😢 I would have happily shared, had they asked, as I often do. Yes, I feel violated, but I’m not going to let this ruin my day or mood. I’d love to combat this selfish act, by giving away some cuttings. They’ll be unrooted. If you’re unfamiliar with rooting succulents, I’ll be more than happy to give you step by step instructions. And as always, you’re more than welcome to stop by or message me at any time with questions you may have. Happy gardening 🌺🌻🌸

It’s been a day, so I stopped by The Dutch Plant Farm on my way home this afternoon. I was about to head straight home, but my husband encouraged me to drop in, and we all know what happens at the plant nursery🤑🤑🤑 So here are the two new additions to my collection. Both are echeverias. I’m not at all surprised. They’re one of my favorite genus of succulents. What are your faves? They’re all so beautiful.

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m out on the porch, where you can usually find me, waiting on the sun to set. It’s the little things. Really. A little while ago, I noticed that the succulents in this planter had started to crowd themselves. A little too snug for my liking. While I think it looks beautiful, a crowded pot is the perfect environment for pests to hide in. Ewww. I’ll be using a shallow 8” plastic pot with drainage. I prefer terracotta, due to its porous nature, which allows the soil to dry out quicker. But as long as your substrate has a good bit of non-organic matter in it, your succulent will be just fine.

Propagating a pot of string of dolphins🐬When propagating, it’s best to water a few days before the big day so that the plant takes in the water it’ll need to sustain itself for the next several weeks while it focuses on developing roots. With sanitized scissors, snip about a 4” stem segment. Then carefully pull or twist the lower few dolphins so that the bottom portion of the stem is bare. That’s the part that will go into the dry soil. Do this until you’re happy with the amount of stem cuttings in the pot. Keep out of direct sunlight, and after about 3 weeks, each segment should have roots! Water using the soak and dry method once roots develop. You can also try rooting the dolphin segments removed from the lower part of the stem. It doesn’t have a 100% success rate, but it is possible, so why not try.

I got this Aloe ‘White Fox’ as a single plant about 4 years ago. It’s been growing and multiplying like crazy! I was thinking about thinning it out, but after looking it over, I think I’ll wait until next year to revisit that thought.

Meant to share this yesterday, but I finished potting the succulents. I usually top with decorative stone or lava rock, but since these succulents will be listed on marketplace, it’d get messed up every time I pull a plant out.
