Wedding days are the best days and this one was at HotelBlackhawk. I made a base of one of the urns and had to stop because it got too heavy to carry so ended up making them onsite and omg just wait until you see them finished!

These stairs deserve their own moment. A grand entrance fit for a princess. I believe every wedding deserves one statement piece whether it’s florals or something else. But as an Iowa wedding florist I will always choose flowers 😊

It’s been 7 years since my first trip to Alaska. 7! I can’t believe the journey it’s been, but after investing in luxury design education, things really took off. Since then I’ve designed for national brands, celebrities, professional athletes in the NFL and PGA, and hundreds of couples. I went from a florist to an artist. So much of my inspiration comes from nature and my couples. I often find myself getting lost in design — humming, wandering back to my hammock to recharge and be inspired by the beauty around me. Hydrangea Bloom is a wedding floral business, but I would call myself a nature artist.

Hydrangea is my love language! I have 4 different varieties growing and these ones are so cute. The green/sage color is all the rage this year. The bushes have grown a lot the last year and can’t wait to see how big they will get next year. I will be using a lot of these stems for next week’s wedding.

What if I told you this is from my FRONT yard!

When we moved into our new build, almost everything put in died and then was ghosted. And don't get me started on the grass(but I refuse pesticides). So I started tearing it slowly because I didn't want to dump money into it all at once. Two years of adding a little, moving things around if I changed my mind on placement, and seeing what actually wants to live here. I was tired of yucky and overall just basic landscaping. I wanted beautiful, functional, native and selfishly things I could cut and use.
I wasn’t expecting to like landscaping but turns out landscape design is a lot like floral design. The colors, textures, layering around when things bloom, and turns out I am pretty good at it.
This is ninebark and yarrow from the front yard and cut for last week's wedding. This has been soooo much fun that…

This topic deserves a seat at the table. A few years ago I started to wonder why so many vendors including myself didn’t have prices or even ranges. As a consumer I like to know right away if something is in my budget and think Brides/couples should to. I would love to know what you think!

This week my oldest son is with my sister on vacation and I have Grant all to myself. He is a totally different kid 1:1 and on the wedding day he was right by my side helping me make my bridal bouquet. This was a special moment and I look forward to our time together this week. We have a wedding tomorrow at Koru berry farm, and I have a surprise adventure in store for us before next weekends weddings. This wedding season has been my favorite and I can’t wait for the 2nd half of it.

One of the most beautiful spring weddings I have ever done and it was so intentionally designed down to every single flower color and type. The tulips stole the show and we imported them from Holland because we just had to have a certain one. So glad we did!
