Looking for a subtle background? Dina Wakley MEdia Clear Gloss may be exactly what you need. Spray, paint, or pour it on, let it dry, then layer colour over the top and watch the resist effect appear. In this latest project using the fabulous Ledger Journal, Michelle Logan uses Clear Gloss beautifully to make the foreground pop while still revealing glimpses of the gorgeous ledger beneath.💖

Supplies:
Dina Wakley Media:
- Ledger Journal
- Stencil: Cover
- Stamp sets: You Matter, Sticks with Leaves
- Scribble Sticks: Cheddar, Syrup, Magenta, Stoked
- Paint: Malachite, Turquoise, Carnation, Magenta, Mustard
- Glosses: Clear, Magenta, Orchid, Cheddar
- Plain Collage Paper
- Bold Collage Paper
- Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
- Gel Medium
- Clear Gesso
- Mixed Media Glue
Other:
- Coloured pencils
- Paint pens: Black, gold, white
- Gel pens

Instructions:
- Spray Clear Gloss liberally through a stencil of your choice, then allow it to dry completely.
- Spray your chosen Gloss Spray colours over the dried Clear Gloss, wait briefly, then wipe away the excess to reveal the resist background.
- While the background dries, stamp face images onto plain collage paper with Archival Ink. Stamp stems onto scrap paper, then fussy cut them out.
- Arrange the faces and collage pieces, then adhere them with Gel Medium applied underneath and over the images; allow to dry.
- Add a thin layer of Clear Gesso to the faces, then dry (this creates texture for Scribble Sticks and pencils to grip).
- Colour the faces with your preferred materials; this sample uses Scribble Sticks, paint, and pencils, with paint pens added for facial details.
- Stencil paint over the collaged body pieces to add extra colour, pattern, and depth.
- Glue the stem pieces in place with Mixed Media Glue to complete the page.
Tip: you could add a title or quote of your choice to the page.
