What an absolutely fantastic day at SeamCraft’s Quilted Jacket Class!

Three very different quilts came through the door this morning—and by the end of the afternoon, three very happy ladies walked out wearing three completely finished, completely one-of-a-kind jackets. ❤️

Not almost finished. FINISHED. 🙌

I absolutely LOVE seeing what each quilt becomes. No two jackets could ever be the same—and that’s part of the fun!

I’m so excited to share that registration is now open for my Trendy Tote Bag classes at Always in Stitches in Noblesville!

Join me on Tuesday, October 13 or Saturday, October 17 and create your own stylish, functional quilted Trendy Tote. We’ll spend the day working through the project together, with plenty of time to learn, sew, and create a tote you’ll love using — or giving as a gift!

✂️ Class size is limited to just 10 students per session, so if you’ve been wanting to make a Trendy Tote with me, I wouldn’t wait too long to reserve your spot.

After filling my August class, I’m excited to announce another Quilted Jacket Workshop!

📍 Tipton, Indiana

Whether you have a vintage quilt you’ve been saving or a newer quilt that’s ready for a second life, I’ll guide you through creating a one-of-a-kind jacket that’s uniquely yours.

Every jacket tells a different story, and no two are ever alike. That’s one of my favorite parts of teaching!

✨ Pictured is my newest jacket featuring a vintage blue quilt with preserved scalloped edges and hidden floral details—a perfect example of how small design choices can make your jacket truly special.

Class size is limited to just 6 students so everyone has plenty of room to spread out and receive individual instruction.

Another Tamarack Jacket… but with a twist. 😊

I’ve made several Tamarack Jackets, but this is the first time I actually followed the pattern!.

That means the high-low hem, the curved side seams between the front and back, and all the original shaping are just as the designer intended. Does it make it better? I don’t think so. Just… different.

As for the collar and cuffs… well, there’s only so much “patterny” I can be! 😄 A little floral accent was the perfect finishing touch.

What happens when you put a room full of creative quilters together?

A table full of one-of-a-kind bags! ❤️

I made the first bag as my “practice run” to ensure I could help as needed as all the ladies completed this project at the retreat. The rest are the amazing creations from the retreat participants—and I love that no two are alike.

That’s one of my favorite things about sewing together. We may each begin with the same pattern, but every person brings their own creativity, fabric choices, and personality to the finished project.
