🎁 Learn it now. Make it personal for Christmas!

One of my favorite things about the Trendy Tote is how easily you can make it completely personal for the person receiving it.

I made this IU tote for my friend Pam, and she later filled it with goodies for her granddaughter as she headed off to IU for law school — cozy things for campus, books for a break from studying, gift cards and other treats. And when all the goodies are gone, she still has the tote!

Think beyond IU, too. W**e lover? 4-H or FFA family? Favorite team? Favorite hobby? Change the fabrics and details and you’ve created an entirely different gift.

My next Trendy Tote classes are October 13 and October 17 at Always in Stitches in Noblesville, and there are still openings.

🧵 There’s still time to make your own quilted jacket!

My next Quilted Jacket Class is Saturday, October 24, and I still have openings!

One of my favorite things about teaching this class is seeing how completely different every jacket turns out. Short or long. Hood or no hood. Vintage quilt or something newer. Your quilt and your style determine the finished jacket.

Bring a quilt you love—or find one that deserves a second life—and spend the day turning it into a jacket that is completely your own. We’ll work through the process together from start to finish, including customizing the fit, length and finishing details.

🎄 Christmas orders have officially started at SeamCraft!

These two custom totes were delivered today and will eventually become Christmas gifts—one for an IU fan and one for a Star Wars fan. ❤️🖤

That’s the fun of a custom order: making it personal. Fabrics, pockets, linings and other details can all be chosen with the recipient in mind. The IU tote was designed with fabrics my customer selected, right down to the fun star lining, while the Star Wars tote has a completely different surprise waiting inside!

So yes, it’s only September—but it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about Christmas! 🎁

SeamCraft is my side gig, not my life 😉, so there are only so many sewing hours between now and December 25. If you have someone on your list who would love something made especially for them, now is a great time to get your Christmas order started. Send me a message and we can come up with something just for them.

I’m teaching this tote class at Always in Stitches in October. I’ve been playing with the pattern to see just how much we can add, and the answer is quite a bit! There’s enough fabric to add inside and outside pockets, a D-ring and the wristlet-style handle.

Take the class in October and you’ll still have two months to make more for Christmas gifts!

🍷 A little w**e collection came together at SeamCraft this week!

What started with a custom w**e tote turned into a whole coordinating collection — a tote, boxy zipper pouch, secret-pocket zipper pouch and wristlet.

I love finding different ways to use a great fabric throughout a project. The border print gave me the w**e glasses and grapevine, while that gorgeous dark grape print ties everything together.

And this is one of my favorite things about custom orders: you don’t have to choose something I’ve already made. Have a theme, special fabric or idea? We can figure out what it could become.

What an absolutely fantastic day at SeamCraft’s Quilted Jacket Class!

Three very different quilts came through the door this morning—and by the end of the afternoon, three very happy ladies walked out wearing three completely finished, completely one-of-a-kind jackets. ❤️

Not almost finished. FINISHED. 🙌

I absolutely LOVE seeing what each quilt becomes. No two jackets could ever be the same—and that’s part of the fun!

I’m so excited to share that registration is now open for my Trendy Tote Bag classes at Always in Stitches in Noblesville!

Join me on Tuesday, October 13 or Saturday, October 17 and create your own stylish, functional quilted Trendy Tote. We’ll spend the day working through the project together, with plenty of time to learn, sew, and create a tote you’ll love using — or giving as a gift!
