Why Mingo Flower Co.? 🌿
I thought it might be fun to share the story behind our name, because it’s something I prayed about quite a bit before we ever became a business.
When I first started thinking about what to call this little dream, there were so many directions I could have gone.
I could have called it Mingo Flower Farm.
I could have called it Mingo Flower Company. I could have chosen something obviously biblical (which is actually what I wanted!) I could have picked something simply because it sounded pretty and floral.
But as I prayed about it, Mingo Flower Co. was the name that kept coming back to me. And eventually, I stopped trying to come up with something better and just listened.
Mingo, because this is where God has planted us. This little place is part of our story.
Flower, because flowers are at the heart of what we do. 🌸
And Co. because I never wanted this to be just a flower farm.
I wanted to leave room for whatever the Lord might grow from it—flowers, creativity, teaching, gathering people together, making beautiful things, and things I can’t even see yet.
And, if I’m being honest, I also loved that Mingo Flower Co. has a little ring to it, it rhymed 😂
But more than anything, I wanted a name people could remember. Something that could become familiar and meaningful to the people who found their way to us.
I don’t know exactly where this little business will go. But I know who I’m trusting with it. What started as a name has become part of a much bigger story—one that I pray continues to honor the Lord in everything it becomes.
And this weekend, you can come be a little part of that story with us. 🤍
Iuka Heritage Festival is this week, and we’re so excited to bring Mingo Flower Co. into the community again. If you’re coming to the festival, come find us, say hello, and see what we’ve been growing. We’d love to meet you! 🌿🌸
