It’s been busy harvesting peonies so I haven’t taken the time to go through all our photos from the peony workshop. However, I have to share this peony cupcake we served to our guests! was kind enough ice them for me and I think she did an exceptional job! I always use Swiss meringue icing because it always works and is delicious!

No one can convince me that flower people aren’t the best people. Yesterday, we held our annual peony workshop and our attendees were the best! They were cheery and enthusiastic… even in the rain and even in a field that wasn’t bursting with blooms! We are so appreciative of the support and joy they brought to the day!

Bud blast is when a peony bud fails to continue forming and open. It can be cause by several factors but most commonly by environmental factors. Two weeks ago, we had an unprecedented freeze that has devastated fruit farmers in our area. Sadly, our peonies weren’t immune and it looks like we’ve lost at least 50% of the peony blooms for this year. It’s crazy to think how a few hours in the middle of the night can wreck such havoc!
