While raku’s origin is in Japan craft, American raku is a fast-firing ceramic art style created in the 1960s by artist Paul Soldner. It modifies traditional Japanese raku by removing red-hot pottery from a kiln and placing it directly into a container filled with burning materials like newspaper to create bright metallic glazes and dark smoke patterns. We have raku coasters, bowls, sculptures and these unique shawl closers!

Big debate with young customer this afternoon: WHICH Shore Buddy to choose?
