Jim Hayes has opened a new music store in Topeka after working out of his home for about 15 years. Gage, then moved to a better location at 2007 sw 6th Avenue. Jim Hayes does repair work and buys and sells instruments. Most of the inventory is band instruments, but the store does have guitars and drums as well. Hayes previously owned four music stor

es, but decided to work out of his home in the 1990s. He said he recently decided to open another store to get the instruments out of his house.

“I’ve been doing repair work since 1967,” he said. He can finish repairs in 24 hours and has a one-year guarantee on them. He has parts for most instruments and can make metal parts for older instruments when necessary.

“It’s more than just slapping things in.”
