FACT: Music Makes You Smarter! Students who participate in school music programs score an average of nearly 60 points higher on the math and critical reading portions of the SAT. They also have the highest acceptance rates into medical schools. In fact, music makers are 50% more likely to continue on to college and graduate.

But playing an instrument isn’t just about higher test scores. It’s about community and a sense of belonging. Unlike competitive team sports, no one sits on the bench waiting for a chance to play. Everyone in a school band and orchestra program participates! Learning to play an instrument takes time, patience and discipline, which builds lifelong skills such as problem solving, accountability, accomplishment, and improved self-esteem. And there’s health benefits, too, including stress reduction, physical endurance and multi-side brain activation.
Now that you’re sold on the benefits of participating in school band and orchestra, it’s time to choose your instrument!

Visit www.rentfromhome.com, your back-to-school headquarters. Ordering is fast, easy and secure. Our month-to-month rental program means you can built rent credit toward the purchase of an instrument or cancel and return at any time. All of our instruments are music-educator approved name brands and meet our strict 30-point inspection before leaving our shop. Delivery is always free to your home or office. Or choose to pick up at one of more than 400 locations nationwide.

SCHOOL BAND vs. SCHOOL SPORTS:

🎵 SCHOOL BAND

EVERYONE PARTICIPATES
Everyone has a place in band. Nobody sits on the bench waiting to play.

BUILDS CONFIDENCE & SKILLS
Band builds self-esteem, discipline, and lifelong skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

BOOSTS ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Studies show band students score higher on standardized tests and have better GPAs.

INCLUSIVE & WELCOMING
All backgrounds and abilities are welcome. It’s about working together, not trying out.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES
Earn scholarships, qualify for easy P.E. credits, and perform in amazing venues and events.

A LIFELONG CONNECTION
The friendships, memories, and love of music last a lifetime.

🏈 SCHOOL SPORTS

LIMITED PLAYING TIME
Many athletes spend more time on the bench than on the field.

CUTS & EXCLUSIONS
Many don’t make the team. The season can end for you in an instant.

FOCUS ON WINNING, NOT GROWTH
Pressure to win can lead to stress, burnout, and less emphasis on personal growth.

HIGHER RISK OF INJURY
Injuries can sideline athletes for weeks, months, or even end their season.

SHORT SEASON
Most sports have short seasons. Band is a year-round experience.

ENDS WHEN THE SEASON DOES
When the season ends, so does the team. The music — and the memories — stop.

CHOOSE MUSIC. ❤️ CHOOSE BETTER.
BAND BUILDS MORE THAN MUSICIANS — IT BUILDS FUTURES.
