Flower Duet is a floral event company based in Los Angeles founded by sisters, Casey & Kit.

We provide custom florals, floral instruction, flower experiences and tours of the LA Flower District. Flower Duet is a full-service floral design company created and run by two sisters based in Los Angeles, California. Since 1999 when they founded Flower Duet out of small design studios to 2010 when they opened up in a warehouse location in Torrance, partners Kit Coleman Wertz & Casey Coleman Sch

wartz had a mission to not only create beautiful bouquets and floral designs for their clients, but to also "take the mystery out of floral arranging" for students of all ages from little kids to older floral enthusiasts. Kit and Casey have been long-time instructors for the venerable Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, American Grown Flowers Field to Vase Dinner Designers, Slow Flowers Summit Speakers and frequent guest speakers for many groups. They continue to offer floral design instruction for all audiences with over 200 courses in their premium online school as well as in-person instruction at their studio and in private settings with a focus on where to purchase locally grown flowers and design sustainably.

Kit taught a lovely group of friends a floral design in the wedding colors for a bridal shower! The group decorated the studio, brought their own food and drinks and enjoyed an afternoon of flower design and each other. We love having private groups in our studio in Torrance to celebrate all things in life from birthdays to weddings!

A few weeks ago, Flower Duet had the privilege of teaching a great healthcare team up in East Hollywood at their offices to help them decorate their newly renovated patio. Everyone made a mini succulent planter garden and then named their pot! They learned how to propagate succulents, how to repot the plants, how to use cuttings in a container and the importance of the “topper.” They also received a care card and instructions on how to keep them healthy (hint: succulents like to be outside and they don’t like to be overwatered!) We loved hosting this talented mom-to-be at Flower Duet for her baby shower. She handmade all the cookies for the event! They were darling and tasted wonderful! Kit walked them through a hand-tied technique featuring roses, dahlias and lisianthus. The group catered lunch from Rascal’s and a gorgeous cake from Lido’s Bakery in Manhattan Beach and yes, it did taste as good as it looked! After the flower lesson, the group played games and ate lunch in our lounge area in the studio!

Since 2018, Flower Duet has provided the florals for the annual ThinkLA IDEA Awards Gala. The theme for the event changes every year and this year it was all about Blue! The client wanted real blue flowers, so we delivered centerpieces in blue hydrangea, delphinium, bachelor's buttons and "dipped and dyed" roses. The client provided the blue ribbon "logo" for the event which we hand-tied to all 85 centerpieces! Here are a few BTS setup shots of the flowers in the studio, on the tables and a few photos from the event itself.
