Sewing is for Everybody. Sewing is for👏 Every👏 Body👏. That’s what’s so beautiful about it.

Sewing gives you permission to express yourself.
Sewing lets you create something that only you own because you made it for yourself.
Sewing gives you the skills to sew for those in need, to repair what you have, and to make gifts for the people you love.

Sewing is a craft found in every culture, generation, and community. It’s something we all have in common: a love for making.🧵💕

Your sewing machine doesn’t care what size you are, what color your skin is, where your parents are from, your age, your income, or how long you’ve been sewing.

That’s what I love about sewing. But I want to see more people represented in the sewing community.

More bodies. More cultures. More ages. More styles. More skill levels. More stories.

Because sewing isn’t for one specific group of people.
Sewing is for everybody.

So if you love to sew and you’ve been scared to share your projects with the world, let this be your permission slip.
Sew and tell us about it.
Tell us what you made. Tell us why you made it. Tell us who inspired you. Tell us what went wrong. Tell us what you learned.

Just by being yourself and sharing what you make, you give someone else permission to do the same.
Sewing is for Everybody.

And with Scorpio ♏️ season coming up—now you've found the fabric to sew something special for your favorite Scorpio—you don’t want to be on their bad side 😉. Thank you to every Sewing Nerd who’s placed an order with us. Especially those of you who’ve been patient and supportive the last 6 weeks. It’s been a whirl!

We went to NYC at the beginning of August and started prepping orders on the 11th; once we returned, we had an influx of orders. 🗽

Had a surprising feature on Amy’s Sewing Room YouTube channel 10 days later, featuring a Mystery Bundle unboxing. Thank you, Amy!🥹

And then I got hit with a tough cold 🤧 that knocked me out for 5 solid days. 5 days of work that I couldn’t do. As a small business owner whose business relies on me for most of the processing, this was stressful.

Not to mention, my box supplier sold their business and stopped selling boxes with no warning 📦, and one of my main deadstock fabric suppliers closed their doors out of the blue. 😰

But we still ended up saving over 300 LBS of denim scraps from the landfill thanks to YOU— so that’s pretty cool 🤓👖✨

The past few weeks have been a roller coaster. Lots of lessons learned on every level of my being. Thanks for sticking with me! I’m excited to share that we’re putting new systems in place to process your orders faster; I’m getting more support with cutting and folding your fabrics; I found a new box supplier; and I have tons of new fabrics coming to the shop for your next sewing projects. Stay tuned!! 💋

Why pre cut? To make it easier to prep and ship your order! We understand that pre-cuts are not for everybody and that’s OK. We’re a small team and need to prep the back end before we can go full scale with more colors.

And as you can see from this trio— these are super limited yardage. One of the beauties of deadstock— once it sells out it will rarely be restocked because it’s the end of a roll.
