The Gigantic Turnip Story Walk is now up at Market Street Creatives just in time for Saturday's Great Fall Festival at MSC and Marsha's Barefoot Books Book Fair, which you will find in the Turner Cafe 10:00am - 4:00pm! Find The Gigantic Story Walk to the left of the Turner Cafe on the metal pony wall in the Maker's Space which leads to The Nest. Visit the Book Fair, Walk and Read the Story Walk and then go shopping in the Nest, plus all the wonderful vendors at Market Street Creatives. The Gigantic Turnip book is available to purchase at my Market Street Creatives booth in Room 2 booth M16 and at Saturday's book fair. See you there!

On Saturday, October 10th 10:00am-4:00pm Marsha's Barefoot Books is hosting a Barefoot Books Fall Back to School Book Fair in the Turner Cafe at Market Street Creatives' Fall Festival. Come and browse a gorgeous selection of Barefoot Books for you home library, do a Fall craft, and go on a Story Walk of The Gigantic Turnip, a perfect Fall harvest book. We are also collection gently used Adult and Children books for Market Street's Little Free Library. Take advantage of all the many Fall Festival activities also going on that day at MSC.

It is new to me and a fundraiser for Camp Harkness. located on the Long Island Sound The Camp Harkness Foundation is dedicated to improving Camp Harkness and helping individuals with disabilities access recreational opportunities available on the camp's grounds, which are beautiful. Happy August! It's still Summer and there's still time to avoid the Summer Slide or Summer Brain Drain. Summer Slide or Brain Drain refers to "students' loss of skills and knowledge during the summer weeks when school is out" "Students lose up to an average of 1 month of school learning over summer vacation. Why does this happen? Limited access to books and a lack of positive reading are two of the main reasons. Good news is that "reading just 6 books with your children over the summer can help retain learning from the preceding year. " *
