It’s Flower Stand Friday and yet again I forgot to take pictures of the stand before I took the littlest to the doctor this morning. She’s stocked and ready for race weekend! 🩷

The spring flowers are showing off and we have so much to choose from, I love this season of abundance! This week’s bouquets feature: Larkspur, Orlaya, Persian Cress, Campanula, Nigella, Ranunculus and Peonies.

I woke up this morning feeling SO grateful for this community.

This was our biggest Mother’s Day weekend yet, and with 95% of the flowers that made up your arrangements grown right here on this farm and ALL of them grown right here in Indiana, this was a HUGE milestone in our focus for sustainability.

Thank you to everyone who came out to “Moms and Mimosas” on Friday, regardless of the rain! And thank you to everyone who came by the Flower Stand to pick up blooms, we made more bouquets than ever and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t stressed about actually selling that amount. But y’all saved the day and the outpouring of support for our little farm brought me to tears multiple times this weekend.

Y’all are THE BEST. From the bottom of my heart… Thank you. 🩷

I’m obsessed with lemons! There was a bumpy lemon tree in our yard when I was a kid growing up in Africa. I would take a rake and pull the ripe ones off as high up as I could reach, then use the bottom of my t-shirt as a basket to carry my prize inside. I would juice them, or just slice them in half and eat them with salt! Multiple lemons every day… It’s a miracle I have any enamel left on my teeth. 🤣

Well, it’s a bit more difficult in a zone 6 climate but I had a baby lemon tree a few year ago that I nursed along for a couple of years, only to pot up to a pot with poor drainage and accidentally kill it.

I’ve talked about getting another tree for the last two years and today the boys surprised me with “Pucker” and “Pie,” my brand new Meyer Lemon and Key Lime trees! 😍

Check back in 7 years for a bountiful harvest… 🤣

If you didn’t make it to see us because of the rain, we’ve got LOTS of flowers for all of the Moms! I will be stocking the stand first thing in the AM and maybe even Sunday if we have anything left!

We are going to be at the “Mom’s and Mimosas” event tomorrow evening at BSF from 5-9pm with LOTS of flowers!!!
