Before you post the āIs the market still happening?ā commentā¦ just know that somewhere, a maker is staring out the window, refreshing the weather app for the 57th time, bargaining with the clouds. šāļø
Market days donāt just magically happen. They take weeks of planning, late nights, early mornings, packing, loading, creating, pricing, and pouring so much heart into every product.
Then the rain comes. Or the wind. Or both.
Itās hard not to feel defeated when youāve spent so much time preparing, only to watch the forecast change everything. Tents fly, displays/products get soaked/ruined, foot traffic is gone, and the excitement youāve been building towards suddenly turns to dread.
But hereās the thing about makersā¦They keep showing up.
They dry off their tables, straighten their displays, smile through the chaos, and do it all over again the next market. Not because itās easyābut because they genuinely love what they create and believe in sharing it with their community.
Being a maker isnāt just a hobby. Itās passion, resilience, determinationā¦ and apparently becoming an amateur meteorologist. š¦ļøš
So the next time you see a market happening after a week of questionable weather, know that every vendor there has already overcome a dozen reasons to stay home.
Support them. Shop small. Tell a friend. Every purchase means more than you know.
