We're a destination U-Pick Flower Farm, also selling freshly-picked, ready-made bouquets. Swing by and say hi while you're exploring the beautiful nature and delicious wine nearby. Live in town and want fresh flowers on the regular? Grab one of our limited bouquet subscriptions, available for delivery! Fall may officially begin today, but the field is still bursting with color, movement & late-season surprises.

The dahlias and marigolds are blooming, the cosmos are still dancing, and there are plenty of beautiful flowers left to come from the field. They just have other plans this week. 🤍

We’re harvesting heavily for a full weekend of weddings, so we’re giving U-Pick a little pause this week to make sure we have everything we need for our couples.

One of our favorite things about growing the flowers we design with is watching them go from a row in the field → to our buckets → to someone’s wedding day.

So while fall may officially be here, we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to flower season yet. We’ll keep gathering every beautiful stem until the first frost says otherwise. 🌸

Kayla & Rob’s wedding at Bay View was joyful, colorful & full of life. It was exactly the kind of celebration that gave our farm-grown flowers plenty of room to show off. 🌸

Their vision was a garden party that felt both classy & whimsical, with all the colors of a summer sunset. We brought it to life with bright pink, coral, yellow & orange, layered with fresh green and touches of blue. We used dahlias, zinnias, snapdragons & amaranth as the showstoppers, alongside globe thistle, larkspur, marigolds, cosmos & hydrangea. Together, they created plenty of movement, texture & the slightly unexpected details that make a design feel intentionally whimsical and unmistakably Moondance.

From cascading statement arrangements on pillars to lush centerpieces across the guest tables, that same natural, fresh-from-the-field feeling carried through the entire day. One of our favorite details was the flowy green amaranth, which wove its way through all of the key pieces: the altar arrangements, Kayla’s bouquet, the bridesmaids’ bouquets & even the table arrangements.

The designs served major garden party energy, while the bright colors popped against Bay View’s incredible natural, neutral beauty.

This wedding is a beautiful example of what happens when a couple lets color & feeling lead while trusting the season. Rather than following a flower recipe, we worked with what was blooming beautifully to create something that felt completely natural at Bay View & entirely true to Kayla & Rob.

Somehow, we blinked and it’s mid-September!

This part of the season always feels a little strange. The calendar says summer is winding down, our wedding season is flying by, and we’re already starting to make lists & plans for next year.

But then we walk outside and… the farm is still VERY much doing its gorgeous thing.

The marigolds are practically taking over. The dahlias are hitting their stride. There are flowers tucked into every corner, buckets coming into the studio, our biggest wedding of the season is still ahead of us, and Panda is still doing daily quality-control laps through the field.

And honestly? U-Pick might be at its best right now. The field is full, there’s so much variety to choose from, and September bouquets have this slightly wild, end-of-summer magic that we love.

It’s easy this time of year to start looking ahead. To think about frost dates and digging dahlias and putting the field to sleep. But we’re trying not to rush it. There are still a lot of flowers left to cut, a lot of bouquets left to make, and plenty of time to come wander the farm and cut one of your own.

And judging by Panda’s enthusiasm, we’re not slowing down quite yet. 🙃

We’re just not looking at it as a list of flowers to recreate. We’re looking at why you love it. The color. The movement. The shape. The little unexpected details. Then we take that feeling into the field and create something that belongs to your wedding, not someone else’s.

Your wedding flowers were there for all of it. They framed your ceremony, filled your tables, were pinned into boutonnières & held close through portraits. They helped shape the way the whole day looked and felt.

At Moondance, preservation becomes a second round of design. We carefully press and preserve the flowers, then arrange them all over again, guided by their natural shape, color, texture & the story they carry.

Nothing is forced into a standard layout. Every piece is created around the flowers you bring us, whether they become a large framed arrangement, a petite frame, resin dishes, wine or champagne glasses, ornaments or something custom incorporating your vows or invitation. Preservation is slow art. Every flower responds a little differently, & we let that become part of the finished piece. The result is one-of-a-kind artwork that keeps the memory of your flowers present in your home long after the wedding.

Long summer evenings, Lake Michigan, little local spots we love, getting outside whenever we can, & a flower field tucked right into the middle of it all.

Our very first wedding of 2026. 🌿

Kelsey & Brendan got married back in May, when the farm was still very much in its spring chapter. Soft whites, mauves, fresh greens and all those beautiful spring shapes.

Fast forward a few months and the field looks completely different. That might be one of our favorite things about growing seasonal wedding flowers – every season gets its own vibe, color palette and whimsy.

August has been BUSY in the very best way 🌸🌸🌸

So many flowers, so many beautiful details, & a whole lot of wedding magic happening before guests ever arrive.

For us, the best weddings are the ones where flowers get to take center stage… abundant ceremony installations, tables layered with seasonal blooms, beautiful bouquets, and little floral moments tucked throughout the day.

And behind all of it are months of planning & growing, followed by harvesting, processing & designing hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of stems here on the farm.

Everything you see here was grown in our fields on Old Mission Peninsula & chosen because it was at its most beautiful right then, for that particular wedding, in that particular season.

Why does every Moondance wedding get different flowers? Because we don’t design from recipes.

Long before your wedding day, we’ll know your colors, your venue, your priorities & how you want your flowers to feel. What we won’t have is a fixed list of exact stems that needs to be recreated months later.

Instead, we leave room for the field. A variety might be having its absolute best week. An unexpected texture might be too beautiful not to use. A flower you never knew to request might capture the feeling you wanted even better than the one you had in mind.

That flexibility is one of our favorite parts of designing with flowers grown right here at Moondance. Your flowers become a snapshot of your wedding, your place & one very specific moment in the field.

No recipes. No replicas. Just flowers that belong entirely to your day.
