2nd trip out: UPDATE

Eric and Tim for a NWMI Fishing Club Wednesday nighter. A lot of big boxes at the scales!

Went 10 for 15

A lot of things broke and went wrong
Downrigger cable snapped
(I will miss that cannon ball)
Diver set up broke off
Hook bent lost a big fish
Fish busted a swivel, (not the clip end either)
Rod tip broke
Boat issues

Still caught 10 fish.
Doubles on 3 times
Sunset was beautiful

3 different rods took fish on meat
7 Color with OG Dancing Anchovie
300 copper took a massive rip that busted the swivel, Beaver’s Lures Aliens Breath gone
Team Dreamweaver Big white paddle took 2
Green Hulk fired twice on the 350 Copper
400 copper ripped with a Mr. Chrome Lures LLC Pirates Parrot, bent the hook and lost a hawg.

Went through all our Familiar Bite Herring strips.

Spent most the night in 150 to 225 feet of water. Both north and south trolls produced.

The cleaning station was packed like an August weekend.

Looks l am going to have to make a restocking trip to TCH GEAR.

Big one came on a Team Dreamweaver A Bomb paddle and meat rig tipped with some delicious herring meat strips.

Monster Walleye on East GT Bay tonight! 30.5” and just under 11lb. Caught on a SS A-Bomb on a 8 color lead line.

Shiny Objects Fishing has reached a crossroads.

After three years of building a recognizable Great Lakes fishing platform in Northern Michigan, we now face a decision:

Pause things, sell the boat and take a year off
or secure it and grow the mission.

Our vision is bigger than tournament fishing.

Our mission is to:
• Honor veterans and first responders
• Feed families through donated salmon meals
• Teach people how to fish and enjoy Lake Michigan
• Promote conservation and stewardship of our Great Lakes fishery
• Build authentic Northern Michigan outdoor content and partnerships

Over the next 7 days we are opening a limited number of Founding Partnerships and Private Investment opportunities to help secure the future of Shiny Objects Fishing.

This is more than a fishing boat.

It is a platform for community, outreach, storytelling, and preserving Great Lakes fishing culture for the next generation.

Some of you know how much this boat and Shiny Objects Fishing means to me.

Sunrises.
Tournament mornings.
Kids fighting fish at daylight.
Long runs on flat water.
A lot of memories built on this boat.

Been kicking around the idea of possibly selling her this summer and going a different direction for 2027.

Honestly, not even sure I really want to yet but leaning in that direction.

Hard to imagine somebody else running her though...
