Keeping downtown looking its best takes work, every single day. 🌿

Through our partnership with SEEDS , the Clean & Green team is behind so much of what you see throughout downtown, from maintaining public spaces and landscaping to tackling the everyday upkeep that keeps our district clean, welcoming and cared for.

Is everything always perfect? Of course not. Downtown is a busy, well-loved place, and there is always more work to be done. But this team shows up every day with a commitment to continually care for and improve our shared spaces.

This level of dedicated service doesn’t just happen. It requires people, resources and consistent funding. TIF helps make that investment possible.
It’s one example of how TIF dollars support ongoing services within the downtown district, helping provide a level of care and maintenance specifically focused on our downtown.

So next time you see our SEEDS Clean & Green crew hard at work, give them a wave! 👋 Their work may happen behind the scenes, but you can see the results all around downtown.

🚧 A quick Cape Seal reminder!

If you’ve been driving around Downtown Traverse City and other areas of the city, you may have noticed some roads looking a little… rocky. Those rocks are NOT the final product!

Cape sealing is a multi-step pavement preservation process, and crews are continuing to work through each phase. Once complete, the treatment will provide a smoother, finished surface while helping extend the life of our streets.

We know road work can require a little extra patience, so please give crews the space and time they need to safely finish the job.

Thanks for bearing with the process, we’re not done yet! 🚧

📣 CAPE SEAL SCHEDULE UPDATE

Due to expected wet weather Tuesday morning, the microsurfacing phase of the Cape Seal Project will now begin Wednesday, Sept. 16. The remaining work schedule has shifted by one day, with operations planned through Saturday, Sept. 19.

🚧 Drivers and Bikers can expect temporary closures, flagging operations and traffic impacts throughout the project area. Access will be maintained where possible.

As always, the schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change. Thanks for your patience as this important pavement preservation work continues!
